Cybersecurity and Applied AI career insights
© 2023-2026 Bespoke Intermedia LLC
Founded by Julian Calvo, Ed.D., M.S.
Effective April 2026. Applies to every cybersecurity career guide, certification guide, salary page, and research article on DecipherU.
DecipherU publishes career insights for cybersecurity professionals. Our readers make hiring, certification, and career-change decisions based on what we publish. This policy explains how we produce that content and what you can expect from it.
Every career guide, certification guide, and salary page is researched from public primary sources before writing. We work from the Bureau of Labor Statistics, O*NET, NIST, MITRE, CISA, NVD, SEC filings, official certifying-body sites, and published peer-reviewed research. We do not copy content. Definitions are original. Summaries are original.
Every guide is written in plain language. We avoid jargon when plain English will do. When a cybersecurity term is necessary, we link to our glossary.
DecipherU publishes 3 to 5 substantive content pieces per week (career guides, certification guides, salary updates, comparison pages, glossary entries, or trend articles), one weekly issue of the Decipher Brief newsletter, and a quarterly research note from Julian Calvo. Throughput stays consistent because every piece follows a templated research, drafting, and review pipeline rather than ad-hoc writing.
Every salary figure cites its source and year: for example, "Source: Bureau of Labor Statistics, Occupational Employment and Wage Statistics, May 2024." Every certification detail, including cost, exam format, and renewal requirements, cites the official certifying body and includes a "last verified" date. Company information comes from SEC filings, Crunchbase, and company websites.
We do not reproduce exam questions, training material we didn't write, or content behind a paywall. When we describe a framework, such as NIST CSF or MITRE ATT&CK, we describe it in our own words and link to the official source.
Permitted primary sources for all DecipherU cybersecurity career content:
Prohibited sources for any data, claim, or quotation on DecipherU:
Every factual claim cites a primary source. Citation format follows APA 7th Edition: author or organization, year, title, and a working link. We do not use secondary citations (citing a citation). Salary, demand, and certification data include the survey or release year inline. A "Sources" footer on every content page lists all references with links.
DecipherU uses AI as a research and drafting tool. Every page produced with AI assistance carries a visible production-path note in the footer: human-written, AI-assisted (human-edited), or AI-drafted (human-reviewed). No page ships without human review. The full disclosure is on the AI disclosure page.
Confirmed errors are corrected within 14 days of the report. Material corrections are logged in the public corrections log with the date, what was wrong, and what the correct information is. Salary and certification data is reviewed against primary sources at the cadence published in the methodology page.
DecipherU content authorship requires one of the following:
Julian holds an Ed.D. in Learning Sciences (University of Miami, 2026), an MBA in Marketing (Lynn University, 2020), and a Master of Science in Organizational Learning and Leadership (Barry University, 2017). He is currently completing a Master of Science in Applied AI specializing in Cybersecurity at Northeastern University. His doctoral research focused on psychometric assessment design, which informs our evaluations. The Northeastern specialization track informs DecipherU's AI-cybersecurity convergence content.
Technical content touching specific certifications or government roles (for example, CISSP preparation, federal clearance paths) is cross-checked against the official issuer before publication.
We use AI tools (Claude by Anthropic, ChatGPT by OpenAI) as research assistants and drafting partners. Every AI-assisted draft is reviewed and edited by a human editor before publication. AI-assisted content is never published without human review. For full detail on when and how we use AI, see our AI disclosure.
Every page carries a "Last verified" date and a content version. Salary data is reviewed annually, or whenever BLS publishes new Occupational Employment and Wage Statistics (typically May of each year). Certification data is reviewed quarterly. Company data is reviewed every 6 months. Trend articles are reviewed every 90 days and flagged for update when predictions reach their date.
If we publish something inaccurate, we correct it. Our corrections log lists every material correction we've published, with the date, what was wrong, and what the correct information is.
To report an error, email editorial@decipheru.com or use the "Report an inaccuracy" link visible at the bottom of every content page.
The Decipher Brief newsletter and selected research notes accept sponsors. Every sponsored placement is clearly labeled as such within the issue, founder-approved before sending, and never affects editorial coverage of the sponsor or its competitors. We do not accept pay-for-placement in cybersecurity career guides, certification reviews, or comparison rankings. Affiliate relationships, where we earn commission on referred purchases, are disclosed in the page footer and on the affiliate disclosure page.
Confirmed errors are corrected within 48 hours when surfaced through the report-an-inaccuracy form, and noted in the page's version history. Material corrections, those that change a fact, a recommendation, or a published number, are also published to the public changelog. Significant corrections carry a bylined note from the founder describing what was wrong, what is correct, and how the error reached publication.
Founder credentials, professional affiliations, and any equity holdings in cybersecurity vendors are disclosed on the About page. The founder accepts no compensation from companies covered editorially on DecipherU. Affiliate relationships are listed transparently and never influence rankings or recommendations.
DecipherU has an affiliate program: when we link to a certification exam, training course, or tool sold by a third party, and you buy after clicking our link, we may earn a commission. Every affiliate link is disclosed. See our affiliate disclosure.
We do not sell placement. We don't accept payment to include, exclude, or rank any certification, tool, or employer. Rankings, recommendations, and "best-for" selections reflect our editorial judgment based on public data.
