DecipherU is operated by Bespoke Intermedia LLC and founded by Julian Calvo. Mission: give cybersecurity and AI professionals decision-grade career intelligence sourced from federal labor data, official certifying bodies, and published research, structured across four areas:
- Cybersecurity careers. The foundation cybersecurity workforce surface.
- Applied AI careers. The foundation applied AI workforce surface.
- AI for cybersecurity. The convergence area where AI augments defender workflows.
- Cybersecurity for AI. The convergence area where cybersecurity discipline secures AI systems.
Founder bio
Julian Calvo, Ed.D., M.S.
Founder, DecipherU

- Master of Science in Applied AI specializing in Cybersecurity, Northeastern University (in progress)
- MBA in Marketing, Lynn University (2020)
Julian Calvo, Founder. Julian is a learning scientist building DecipherU as the cybersecurity career intelligence platform for the AI economy. He holds an Ed.D. in Learning Sciences from the University of Miami, an MBA in Marketing, and is completing an M.S. Applied AI specializing in Cybersecurity at Northeastern University. The Northeastern specialization is the unifying credential authorizing DecipherU's cross-vertical position spanning cybersecurity careers, applied AI careers, and the convergence between them.
Before DecipherU, Julian spent his career in enterprise B2B cybersecurity sales, where he sold security tooling into Fortune 500 buyers and watched the cybersecurity workforce shortage compound year over year. The pattern that motivated DecipherU is simple: practitioners get career advice, but they do not get career insights. Advice is opinion; intelligence is decision-grade reasoning sourced from federal labor data, official certifying bodies, and published research, with the methodology shown openly.
Julian built DecipherU as the platform that closes that gap. The site covers 104 cybersecurity and convergence career guides, 22 courses, 480+ Range scenarios, and a public methodology that journalists and practitioners can audit directly. Julian writes the weekly Decipher Brief, hosts founder office hours in the Operator Discord, and is available for press on the four coverage areas listed on this page. He lives in South Florida.

Platform thesis
โDecipherU is a cybersecurity career platform. The career decisions practitioners make over the next five years will determine whether AI compounds their value or compresses it. Our job is to make those decisions decision-grade, not vibes-based.โ
AI disruption to cybersecurity careers
โAI is not flattening cybersecurity work uniformly. It is compressing tier-one alert triage, augmenting detection engineering, and creating entirely new roles around model security. Practitioners who read those three signals correctly will spend the next decade compounding. The ones who do not will spend it scrambling.โ
AI and cybersecurity convergence
โThe convergence is bidirectional. AI for cybersecurity gives defenders better tools. Cybersecurity for AI is the discipline of protecting the AI systems themselves: model supply chains, prompt-injection defense, AI governance. Both directions create new senior roles at the same time legacy ones thin out.โ
Career insights as a category
โCareer advice is not the same product as career insights. Advice is opinion. Intelligence is decision-grade reasoning sourced from federal labor data, official certifying bodies, and published research, with the methodology shown openly. DecipherU is built as the second category.โ
Methodology behind the AI Impact Outlook
โThe AI-Disruption risk score is not a vibes index. It scores roles across automatability, augmentation potential, and new-role emergence using NIST and O*NET frameworks as the baseline. The scoring weights are public at /methodology. Journalists and practitioners can audit them directly.โ
Why both foundations matter
โA cybersecurity practitioner who cannot reason about AI systems will be priced out of senior work by 2028. An AI practitioner who cannot reason about adversarial threat models will ship insecure systems. The professionals who compound from here forward hold both foundations, not one.โ
Marketplace for cybersecurity and AI talent
โThe hiring market for cybersecurity and AI is fragmented across job boards that chase volume, not signal. A pre-vetted marketplace where the assessment data is the qualification record changes the cost of every senior hire. That is the surface DecipherU is building.โ
Editorial integrity in AI-generated content
โThe temptation in this category is to flood the zone with AI-generated content. We made the opposite call: every page cites primary sources, every salary figure cites BLS or O*NET, and every certification detail comes from the certifying body directly. Practitioners can audit our work the same way we audit theirs.โ

Talking points
Themes the founder is available to comment on. Each one connects to public evidence on the platform.
Theme
AI's impact on cybersecurity careers
Which cybersecurity roles compress, which augment, and which new ones emerge. The AI-Disruption risk score, scoring methodology, and what practitioners can do this quarter to position correctly.
Theme
The convergence of AI and cybersecurity
Bidirectional convergence: AI for cybersecurity (defender augmentation) and cybersecurity for AI (model security, prompt-injection defense, AI governance). Why both directions are creating senior roles at the same time.
Theme
Career insights as a category
Why career advice and career insights are not the same product. How decision-grade workforce data sourced from federal labor statistics changes the practitioner's planning horizon.
Theme
Methodology behind AI Impact Outlook scores
How the AI-Disruption risk score is built, which frameworks ground it, where the weights come from, and how journalists can audit the methodology at /methodology.
Theme
Why both foundations are necessary
The argument that mid-career practitioners need both cybersecurity and applied AI fluency by 2028 to stay senior. What the credentialing landscape currently rewards and where the gaps are.
Theme
Marketplace for cybersecurity-AI talent
How a pre-vetted talent surface where assessment data is the qualification record changes hiring cost and time-to-fill for senior cybersecurity and AI roles.
