Every cybersecurity role, skill, certification, tool, framework, and regulation on DecipherU is modeled as a node in a connected graph. Typed relationships show which skills each role requires, which certs teach which skills, which tools integrate with which others, and where careers typically progress next.

Start from your current role and traverse to compatible next roles. The edges show typical progression patterns, not aspirational ones.
Explore career paths โPick a target role, see the skills it requires, and match them against certifications that teach each one. No guessing which cert is 'best' โ the graph shows what teaches what.
Open simulator โFor any cert, see every role it unlocks, every skill it teaches, and every other cert that typically precedes or follows it in a well-designed study path.
Browse certifications โEach tool node shows the skills needed to operate it, the roles that use it daily, and the vendors that make it. Useful for homelab planning and interview prep.
See cybersecurity tools โThe graph is deliberately typed โ every edge has a semantic label, not just a connection. This is what lets it answer nuanced career questions.
Every node is sourced to a real content page on DecipherU. Every edge is sourced to a citation from an authoritative reference โ BLS OES 2024 for demand and salary data, O*NET for skills and tasks, NIST NICE for work role definitions, MITRE ATT&CK for adversary techniques, official certifying body websites for cert prerequisites. The guardrail pipeline that reviews every content generation run also reviews every graph addition.
Versioning runs at the node and edge level โ every change has an audit trail. Exports are available as JSON-LD for integration into academic research, journalism, and partner tooling, under a CC BY 4.0 license.
The full interactive visualization is in development. While it ships, every view below traverses the same underlying graph structure:
Every cybersecurity role as a graph node with neighborhoods showing required skills, used tools, recommended certs, and career progression.
All skill nodes extracted from role descriptions, each linking to the roles that require it.
Every cert node with its role-benefits edges and concept-taught edges.
Tool nodes with role-uses edges and tool-integrates-with-tool edges.
MITRE ATT&CK, NIST CSF, NIST NICE, ISO 27001, SOC 2, CIS Controls โ each framework node links to the concepts it contains.
GDPR, LGPD, CCPA, LFPDPPP, Ley 1581, HIPAA, PCI DSS โ mapped to the jurisdictions and roles that operate under them.
Concept nodes cross-referenced from every role, cert, tool, framework, and regulation.

A structured, queryable map of the cybersecurity career domain. Every concept, skill, role, certification, tool, vendor, regulation, and framework is modeled as a node. Typed relationships connect them (role REQUIRES skill, role PROGRESSES_TO role, cert TEACHES skill, tool INTEGRATES_WITH tool). The graph powers career change simulations, personalized recommendations, and learning path generation.
The graph covers 60+ cybersecurity roles, 200+ skills, 30+ certifications, 80+ tools, 20+ frameworks (MITRE ATT&CK, NIST CSF, ISO 27001, SOC 2, CIS Controls), 30+ regulations, 40+ concepts, 20+ incidents, 40+ companies, and 20+ educational paths. Connections total over 2,000 relationships, every one sourced to a real content page on DecipherU.
Node and edge additions run through the same guardrail pipeline that powers DecipherU content: sourced to authoritative references (BLS, NIST, O*NET, CyberSeek, vendor docs), reviewed by Julian Calvo (Ed.D. in learning sciences, M.S. in applied AI), and versioned with an audit trail.
Exploring the graph in the browser is free for every visitor. A JSON-LD export is available for academic research, journalism, and educational partners under a CC BY 4.0 license requiring attribution to DecipherU. Commercial redistribution requires a data license; contact partnerships@decipheru.com.
A ladder shows linear progression; a directory lists items without context. The graph captures multi-dimensional relationships: the skills a role requires, the certs that teach those skills, the tools practitioners use, the roles that typically progress from this one, and the frameworks that shape the work. Traversal answers questions a list cannot: 'what skills from my current role transfer to threat intel' or 'which certs validate the skills I am strongest in.'
