Runtime Application Self-Protection integrates security directly into a running application to detect and block attacks in real time. RASP agents analyze inputs, function calls, and data flows from inside the application and can terminate malicious requests immediately.

Security architects evaluate RASP for protecting critical applications where web application firewalls alone are insufficient. Security engineers deploy and tune RASP agents to block injection attacks and unauthorized data access at the application layer. Unlike network-based controls, RASP understands application context and reduces false positives.
