Series 7
The Series 7 qualifies a representative to sell corporate, municipal and government securities, options, and investment company and variable products. Most of the exam tests products, recommendations and suitability, with options and municipal securities in depth.
To sell most securities, a representative must pass the SIE and the Series 7 and register through a FINRA member firm, which sponsors the Series 7. FINRA, Series 7: General Securities Representative Exam.
