Asking for an accommodation
This summarizes the process the owner or vendor describes. It is not a legal or medical opinion and it does not say who qualifies. Questions about your own situation go to the owner or vendor.
- How to ask for an accommodation
The handbook says the steps vary by exam program. You start on Pearson VUE's accommodations page and pick your program from the list. Questions go to Pearson VUE's ADA coordinator by email, listed in the handbook. Accommodations can include a separate room or extra time.

- Approval before you book
Not stated on the page we read. The handbook and the Pearson VUE page do not say whether approval must come before booking. For English as a second language extra time, the handbook says not to book until Pearson VUE confirms approval by email.

- How long review takes
Not stated on the page we read. Neither the handbook nor the Pearson VUE page states a review time for Florida candidates.

- Documents the owner asks for
The handbook says candidates must provide documentation of the condition and how it affects taking the test under standard conditions, which can include supporting documentation from the professional who made the diagnosis and a description of past accommodations.

On the day
- ID
Bring one current, unexpired, government-issued ID in English with a photo and a signature. The name must match your registration exactly. Pearson VUE recognizes no grace periods, so an ID that expired yesterday is expired.

- Arrival and check-in
Report 30 minutes before the exam. You are photographed for the score report and sign a Candidate Rules Agreement. A tutorial before the exam does not reduce your exam time.

No personal items in the testing room: phones, electronic devices, watches, wallets, purses, weapons, hats, bags, coats, books, notes, pens or pencils. Personal calculators are not permitted; staff can provide one on request. No studying, visitors, food, drink or gum. Violations mean dismissal and loss of the fee.
