Conformity Assessment (EU AI Act)

The procedure by which a provider of a high-risk AI system demonstrates that the system meets the EU AI Act's requirements before placing it on the EU market. For most high-risk categories conformity assessment is via internal control; biometric remote identification systems require third-party conformity assessment by a notified body. The provider draws up a declaration of conformity and affixes the CE marking.
