DDoS
Distributed Denial of Service
A DDoS attack floods a target server, service, or network with traffic from many distributed sources to exhaust its resources and make it unavailable. Attackers use botnets, amplification techniques, and protocol-level exploits to generate massive traffic volumes.
Como é usado em cibersegurança
SOC analysts monitor traffic baselines and trigger DDoS mitigation when volumetric anomalies appear. Security engineers configure rate limiting, traffic scrubbing, and CDN-based DDoS protection to absorb attack traffic. Incident responders coordinate with ISPs and upstream providers during active DDoS attacks to restore service availability.
