The California Consumer Privacy Act gives California residents the right to know what personal data businesses collect, to delete it, and to opt out of its sale. The CPRA amendment (effective 2023) added the right to correct data and created the California Privacy Protection Agency. Companies with over $25 million in revenue or handling data of 100,000+ consumers must comply.
