Endpoint & Threat Protection
Cylance (Arctic Wolf Aurora Endpoint Security)
Cylance pioneered machine learning for pre-execution malware prevention when it launched in 2012. BlackBerry acquired Cylance in 2019 for $1.4 billion. Arctic Wolf then acquired the Cylance assets from BlackBerry in February 2025 for $160 million in cash plus Arctic Wolf stock; the Cylance technology was integrated into the Arctic Wolf Aurora Platform and rebranded as Aurora Endpoint Security (with Aurora Endpoint Defense the direct successor to CylancePROTECT and CylanceOPTICS). The Cylance brand persists as a product-line indicator at Arctic Wolf rather than a standalone company.
