NGFW
Next-Generation Firewall
An NGFW combines traditional firewall packet filtering with deep packet inspection, application awareness, and integrated IPS capabilities. It inspects traffic at the application layer to enforce policies based on users, applications, and content rather than just ports and protocols.
Cómo se usa en ciberseguridad
Security engineers deploy NGFWs at network perimeters and internal segmentation points to control traffic flow. Security architects specify NGFW policies as part of zero trust network designs. SOC analysts correlate NGFW logs with SIEM data to detect policy violations and blocked attack attempts.
