How we rank exams

Largest exams by yearly test takers
When a list says "Largest exams by yearly test takers", the exams are ordered by how many people take that exam in a year. Nothing else goes into the order: not price, not how much practice we have written, not any payment from anyone.
The counts are for the whole exam family and are rounded. A state variant of a family, such as the California real estate exam, uses its own count when a board or testing service publishes one. Where an official number exists (a state board report, a testing-service report), we use it. Where no one publishes a count, we use a labor-market estimate, such as the number of people newly licensed in a year, and we say so in our working file. An estimate can be off by a wide margin, which is why we show an order and not the numbers. The rank says "this exam is among the largest", not "this exam is better" or "more people trust it".
The order is a snapshot. Counts change each year, and we refresh them when we add exams. If you spot a count that looks wrong, write to editorial@decipheru.com with the source.
