RBT
The RBT is the entry credential for behavior technicians who deliver ABA therapy under a BCBA's supervision. The exam tests data collection, assessment support, skill acquisition, behavior reduction, documentation and ethics, in short work scenarios.
Insurers and state Medicaid programs that pay for ABA therapy require the technician delivering it to hold the RBT credential. South Carolina Medicaid has required it for line therapists since July 1, 2017. South Carolina DHHS, ASD line therapy credential requirements bulletin (2016).
