Premium Assessment
Coming Q3 2026The DecipherU Incident Simulation places you inside realistic cybersecurity breaches. You make decisions at every stage: from initial detection through containment, eradication, recovery, and post-incident review. The assessment scores your response across six dimensions and maps your strengths to specific cybersecurity career paths.
Each scenario is a multi-stage incident modeled after real-world cybersecurity breaches. Your decisions at each stage affect the outcome and your final score.
A hospital network detects encrypted files spreading across systems. Critical patient data and scheduling systems are affected. You lead the response team.
Anomalous outbound traffic detected at a midsize bank. Investigation reveals a compromised service account exfiltrating customer records. Time-sensitive regulatory notification required.
A departing engineer is flagged by DLP tools for transferring proprietary code to personal storage. HR, Legal, and Security must coordinate. You manage the investigation.
Accuracy in recognizing the nature and scope of the incident
How quickly you isolate affected systems to prevent spread
Quality of updates to stakeholders, executives, and technical teams
Appropriateness of escalation decisions throughout the incident
Effectiveness of technical response actions and tooling choices
Quality of lessons learned and process improvement recommendations
The Cybersecurity Incident Simulation launches in Q3 2026. Join the waitlist to get early access and a notification when the assessment goes live.
The incident simulation is a multi-stage scenario-based assessment that places you in realistic cybersecurity breach situations. You make decisions at each stage: detection, containment, eradication, recovery, and lessons learned. The assessment measures your technical response, communication skills, and leadership under pressure.
Each simulation scenario takes 20 to 30 minutes. The full assessment includes three scenarios covering ransomware, data exfiltration, and insider threat. Completing all three scenarios takes approximately 60 to 90 minutes.
The simulation is designed for cybersecurity professionals with 1+ years of experience who want to test their incident response skills. SOC Analysts, Incident Responders, Security Engineers, and team leads benefit most. Entry-level professionals can take it for exposure to real-world scenarios.
The assessment scores six dimensions: threat identification accuracy, containment decision speed, communication clarity, escalation judgment, technical remediation, and post-incident analysis. Each dimension receives a score from 1 to 100.
The incident simulation is currently in development and will launch for Premium users in Q3 2026. Join the waitlist to get early access and a notification when it goes live.
